About Me
I am a Licensed Psychologist (AL#2165) with a Masters in Health Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University. At APWC, I focus on providing culturally responsive care to Black women in particular. However, I also work with clients of other genders and races. I am also trained to utilize therapeutic techniques to promote mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. I have previously practiced in counseling centers, VAs medical clinics, and private practice offices.

Dr. Chenetra Buchannon primarily provides telehealth counseling for Auburn Psychological Wellness Center. What this means is that she conducts most of her counseling sessions using a secure video platform. If you work with Dr. Buchannon via telehealth, you would attend your video appointments from the convenience of your own home or other private location. You must be physically located in Alabama in order to receive services via telehealth.
