What to Expect if We Work Together
My goal is to create a warm, accepting, and collaborative space where clients feel understood and supported. I will take the time to understand your unique experiences, areas of strength, and individual goals so that we can work together to develop an approach that feels meaningful. In counseling, I use evidence-based interventions grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) principles to help clients build insight into their experiences and enhance coping skills. Review our psychological assessment page to find out more information about what to expect if you are a client seeking testing services.
About Me
I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Alabama. I received a BS in Neuroscience from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. Prior to joining APWC, I completed an internship in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Gainesville, Florida. My background is in general clinical psychology and I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am also certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a family based intervention that focuses on strengthening parent-child relationships and managing challenging behaviors for children 2-7 years old.
