What to Expect if We Work Together
You can expect me to cultivate a welcoming and accepting environment where I am intentional about building a therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe, respected, and understood. At the same time, I will warmly challenge you to develop greater self-awareness and move toward becoming the most authentic version of yourself. I believe genuineness and humor are important parts of the therapeutic experience, and I incorporate both alongside evidence-based interventions.
I take a trauma-informed approach, recognizing that our experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond to challenges. Together, we will work to better understand those patterns and develop healthy coping skills to navigate current struggles and whatever life may bring. I believe you are the expert on your life and will work with you to determine what meaningful growth looks like for you.
About Me
I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in the state of Alabama (ALC06208) supervised by Hannah Spates (LPC04473 and SC03579). I attended Auburn University, where I first earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Counseling. Following that, I earned a Master of Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before becoming part of the APWC team, I completed an internship at East Alabama Health in the inpatient psychiatric unit. There, I had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating serious mental illness and varying life concerns.
I am from south Alabama and have lived in Auburn for 4 years. In my free time, you can find me spending time with my husband and our two cats Kiddo and Aubie, exploring thrift stores, spending time outside, binge-watching my favorite TV shows, fishing, or finding a new dinner spot with my friends.
