Areas of Emphasis
I am a psychiatric clinical intern at Auburn Psychological Wellness Center (APWC), in Auburn, AL. Common concerns treated with psychiatric medication include:
- Anxiety Disorders
- Mood Disorders
- Sleep concerns
- Perceptual disturbances (Psychosis)
- Other mental health concerns
You may also want to work with a psychiatry provider to decrease or eliminate current psychiatric medications.
What to Expect if We Work Together
My work at APWC is under the direct supervision of Dr. Erica Ramey. We may have contact with one another during your scheduled appointments with Dr. Ramey. If you give permission for me to sit in on your appointment with her, I will be there as an active listener and support person. You are welcome to ask me any questions during your appointment, and I may also share some of my thoughts. At this time, I do not see clients independently, but please see our Psychiatry page for more information about the services offered at APWC.
I am a native of Opelika, AL. I have a psychology degree from the HBCU Fisk University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lipscomb University. My nursing experience is in the areas of medical/surgical (med-surg), endoscopy, and psychiatric nursing. In addition, I have had the privilege of working as a Night Court Advocate with domestic violence survivors. Currently, I attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMH-NP) specialty track program. As a healthcare professional, my commitment and dedication to serving people has been both a rewarding and humbling experience. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and two little boys, hosting holiday parties with family, traveling, and watching television.
